Handling a Tiffany Style lamp must be done with care due to their delicate nature, however cleaning a Tiffany Style lamps shade is not as hard as it sounds. It is a very easy task with a few simple instructions which allow your lamp to look as good as new each time. Although the designs on the lamp may differ, it is much more important to pay attention to the type of glass the lamp is made from and to follow instructions accordingly.

1) Remember to unplug the lamp before you start cleaning
2) Now you may determine the type of glass your lamp is made from to then start cleaning. Consult the user’s manual or contact the manufacturer if you are having trouble determining on your own.
3) Squeeze a bit of lemon oil-based furniture cleaner on a lint-free rag and rub gently on the surface of the lamp until the oil spreads and dirt is removed. This must only be done if the lamp shade is made from opaque stained glass, art glass, or jade stone.
4) Dust lamps with a lint free rag or feather duster if the lamp is made from mica.
5) Squeeze a bit of glass cleaner to a lint-free rag and clean the surface of the lamp with care if the glass is made from bevelled or clear glass.
6) You can mix 4 warm cups of water with 2 to 4 drops of dish detergent and apply it to a cloth in order to clean lithophane porcelain lamps. Scouring powder may be used to wipe non-coloured portions of the lamp. In order to dry the lamp, a lint-free rag may be used and finish cleaning.
